Stephen joined BARR LLP in 2025, after practicing at international and mid-size firms in Edmonton. He practices in corporate, commercial, finance, real estate and consulting, integrating legal and business management expertise.
Stephen works with accountants, bankers, agents and other specialists to provide individuals, businesses and family offices with comprehensive legal, commercial, finance and succession solutions. He is grateful for the enduring professional relationships he has formed with many great people over the years.
Stephen obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of Saskatchewan, College of Law in 2012, before returning home to Edmonton to article and practice. While at the College of Law, Stephen was an Editor of the Caveat Lector student newspaper and volunteer Counsel at Campus Legal Services. Stephen is a high honours MBA Candidate at Boston University’s Questrom School of Business, focusing on modern business strategies, operational technology and data, brand equity and enterprise-wide risk management.
Outside of his practice and studies, Stephen enjoys time with his young family, outdoor adventures, staying active and golfing. He has acted as Duty Counsel at the Edmonton Law Courts, volunteered with many community organizations and Boards and guest lectures at the University of Alberta School of Business.
